THE NATIONAL LEASEHOLD CAMPAIGN (NLC) IS ORGANISING A MORNING OF ACTION NEXT MONDAY – 7TH OCTOBER AT 9AM.
We are calling for all leaseholders to email their MP’s at 9am. We want to ensure that the Leasehold Scandal is at the top of the political agenda when they resume from their party conferences on Monday.
Our email action is calling for MP’s to :
- Join the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Leasehold & Commonhold Reform
- Switch on the Leasehold & Freehold Act via secondary legislation ASAP.
- Abolishment of Forfeiture and ‘Housing Act Trap’
- Replacing Leasehold with Commonhold – A Draft Bill
- Regulation of Property Agents (ROPA)
- Abolish Fleecehold (including Estate management charges)
- Ground rent cap on existing leases – a peppercorn

Thankyou in advance for joining in with this event. Whilst the freehold lobbyists are busy telling the government how they need to “take another look at things” we are urging the government to move forward. We have had years of endless consultations and overwhelming evidence that the leasehold system is rotten to the core. The Law Commission have produced three fantastic blue print reports on Right To Manage, Enfranchisement & Commonhold. We are fed up of hearing “When parliamentary time allows” or “It’s really complex and complicated”. Only because it’s complex isn’t and excuse to keeping the status quo. Now is the time for ACTION NOT WORDS.
